Abstract

The term "crop intensity" refers to the practice of cultivating more than one crop on agricultural land within a year in a given region. A high crop intensity index in a region indicates a greater number of crops, whereas fewer crops result in a lower crop intensity index. Crop intensity signifies the number of crops grown on a single piece of land. It serves as an indicator of the optimal utilization of agricultural land. Crop rotation intensity represents the critical point where the combination of land, capital, and labor proves to be the most profitable. Furthermore, crop composition is an essential dimension of agricultural geography.

Abstract in Hindi Language: शस्य गहनता का आशय किसी क्षेत्र की कृषि भूमि पर एक वर्ष में एक से अधिक फसलों का उगाया जाना है। किसी क्षेत्र में षस्य गहनता सूचकांक अधिक है इसका तात्पर्य फसलों की संख्या अधिक है वहीं फसलों की संख्या कम होने पर फसल गहनता सूचकांक कम होता है। फसल गहनता का तात्पर्य एक ही खेत में उत्पन्न की जाने वाली फसलों की संख्या से है। फसल गहनता कृषि भूमि के अधिकतम उपयोग का सूचकांक है। फसल क्रम गहनता वह सामयकि बिन्दु है जहाँ भूमि, पूँजी तथा श्रम का सम्मिश्रण सर्वाधिक लाभप्रद सिद्ध होता है। वहीं शस्य संयोजन कृषि भूगोल का एक महत्वपूर्ण आयाम है।
