Contextualizing the Tribal Welfare Policies of Kerala State http://rrjournals.co.in/index.php/rrjss/article/view/49
This article provides a critical assessment of the tribal development policy of the Kerala government over the past decade. Commencing with the recent controversy surrounding the portrayal of adivasis as a 'human zoo' during the Keraleeyam event in November, 2023, this paper delves into the transformations in the state's approach, particularly its shift towards a 'right-based approach' in the late nineties. The discussion encompasses land-related issues, the state's stance concerning adivasis during the pandemic, and, notably, the prevalent 'dropout syndrome.' The paper concludes by contending that the current state perspective appears to perceive tribal issues primarily as residential challenges rather than a confluence of land and livelihood difficulties.
Abhilash Thadathil Copyright (c) 2024 http://rrjournals.co.in/index.php/rrjss/article/view/49 Sun, 31 Dec 2023 00:00:00 -0500 The Impact of the National Education Policy on Higher Education in India http://rrjournals.co.in/index.php/rrjss/article/view/50
The implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) of 2020 is a pivotal point in the history of education in India, particularly with regard to the field of higher education. The present paper describes the link between globalisation and the banking system in association with the IT sector. Despite the fact that domestic banks are less efficient, the introduction of international banks has boosted the efficiency of the banks. On the other hand, increasing IT expertise shows that depicts the best performance in the banking system. It is further found that the impact of globalisation is preferably dependent on the institutional regime and regulatory framework of India. Private banks are performing better in comparison to public sector banks. Also, the private sector banks are much more techno-friendly than the public sector banks in India. The banking system is being centralised because of the IT sector and the increment in its efficiency has been observed.
Dr. Ishwar Singh Darji Copyright (c) 2024 http://rrjournals.co.in/index.php/rrjss/article/view/58 Sun, 31 Dec 2023 00:00:00 -0500 The Ascendance of China in Geopolitics and the Reactions of Southeast Asian Nations http://rrjournals.co.in/index.php/rrjss/article/view/51
This research investigates the geopolitical rise of China and examines the responses elicited from Southeast Asian countries in the face of China's increasing influence. As China's prominence grows on the global stage, particularly in Southeast Asia, this study aims to analyze the multifaceted interactions and reactions of nations in the region. The research delves into the diplomatic, economic, and strategic dimensions, providing insights into the evolving dynamics and potential implications for regional geopolitics. Following the dissolution of the USSR, the era of bipolarity concluded, ushering in a period of US hegemony. However, the rapid ascent of China in the geopolitical landscape emerged as a counterforce to the NATO pact, reintroducing a bipolar dynamic to the world. While the consequences may appear straightforward, the tangible developments in Chinese military and economic power on the ground indicate its potential hegemony in the relevant region.
Mr. Amishkumar Das Copyright (c) 2024 http://rrjournals.co.in/index.php/rrjss/article/view/51 Sun, 31 Dec 2023 00:00:00 -0500 How the Involvement of Non-Governmental Organizations is important in Rural Development? http://rrjournals.co.in/index.php/rrjss/article/view/52
As a country with a large rural population, India's government is always launching programmes to improve life in rural areas. The adaptable, community-centric, needs-driven, beneficiary-focused, and devoted service strategy is what has allowed non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to rise to prominence as influential players. Using case studies of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) working on health, hygiene, and sanitation projects both at home and abroad, this study investigates the critical role NGOs play in rural development in India. Participation by women, evaluation of performance, training and education, business ownership, and travel are all areas that receive special attention in the research. It explores the complexities of non-governmental organisation (NGO) relations with public officials, implementation procedures, and relevant issues.
Naina Trivedi Copyright (c) 2024 http://rrjournals.co.in/index.php/rrjss/article/view/52 Sun, 31 Dec 2023 00:00:00 -0500
